Fairview
Elementary is committed to the health and safety of our students. While we ask that
efforts be made to schedule medications during off-school hours, we realize there are
times and situations that require your child to receive medication at school. We gladly
cooperate with your child's physician, we have an appropriate form to be signed by you,
the parents and your child's physician. Please just let us know by calling
472-4380 and we
will get one to you. We can also accommodate any over-the-counter medications with the
appropriate parent's signature. Feel free to call our nurse at any time with questions and
information regarding your child.
Nurse
Notes
A note from our nurse:
As the
school nurse, my priority is to keep Fairview Elementary school children healthy
and in school. My responsibilities include assisting students with medications,
assessing signs and symptoms of illnesses and injuries, determining appropriate
follow- up care and communicating with the parents. The school clinic is
available for students who need assistance from the nurse. If a child has a
fever, is vomiting, or has a contagious disease the parent will be called and
the child will be sent home. If you think your child might have a fever,
please check their temperature before sending them to school. Your child should
not be sent to school until he/she has been fever free for 24hrs or longer.
Please use the guidelines below to determine whether your child is should be in
school. Please call me for any questions or concerns.
