Colds & Flu

-Most runny/stuffy noses and sore throats are viral and antibiotics are not needed.

- If your child complains of a sore throat with headache, stomach ache, dizziness,

and does not any (or much) nasal symptoms, they may need to be checked

for strep throat (especially if a low grade fever and/or white spots/pus are present

 on their tonsils)

                           RECOMMENDATIONS FOR FLU

  - If your child complains of body aches and also has a sore throat, fever headache or

cough, consider having them tested for the flu.  Body aches with   fever are often

the first signs of the flu.

Keep in mind.  These are just recommendations by your school nurse and are based

on guidelines used by many physicians.  You know your child best.  If you feel

medical care is necessary sooner, please contact your physician immediately!!!!!!!
