Vanderbilt's track complex, though lacking seating, is a
fantastic picturesque facility.
Last year, they hosted the SEC Championships.
The Great-Eight invites the top eight performers from the middle
Tennessee/Nashville area in every event.
There is only one heat of each event. No relays.
Just like last year, we took five athletes and each guy rose to
the occasion.
Now for the sad
news ... On his one and only jump, Trey Hardison landed
and noticed that he could no longer straighten his knee.
It remains bent at a 45-degree angle. The problem is most
likely a torn meniscus. Trey's season is probably over.
I believe Trey was headed for 23-something long jumps and a
possible gold medal.
His sprint speed was exploding. He was clocked on Monday
and Tuesday at 10.75 and 10.73 in the 100.
Trey Hardison, in my opinion, had become one of the top
track athletes in the state of Tennessee.
I had even heard a good report from Trey's English teacher
yesterday!
We have not heard the last of Trey Hardison. http://www.arthroscopy.com/sp05005.htm
It's interesting to compare last year's results to this year's
...
(FAT stands for
Fully Automated Time, typically 0.24 greater than hand-held
timing)

JV Meet Thursday at FHS (3:30) with Brentwood, Brentwood Academy,
and Centennial
At Paducah Tilghman next Saturday. Paducah is 150 miles
away.
They have a great track facility and the best track program in
Kentucky.
We will enter two teams and take 35 guys ... even more
than we took to Oak Ridge.
Bus Time 6:15 AM Saturday ... returning Saturday night.
