+++

No TJ, 300 INT, 200, 400, 3200, 4x2, and the hurdles were shortened to 60M. Only two attempts were allowed in the shot, disc, and LJ. Only four ATTEMPTS were allowed in the HJ and PV.

Temperatures started in the 50's but dropped quickly into the 30's.

Present were the Williamson County schools of Brentwood, Ravenwood, Independence, Centennial, and Franklin.

We won 6 of the 12 events and placed in the top three in 11 of 12 (no vaulters).

Sophomore Trey Hardison won the LJ and HJ. In the HJ he cleared 5'4, 5'6, 5'8, and 5'10 but had used his four attempts and was not allowed to continue. He long jumped almost three feet less than he did at SIU but still won the event (bad LJ facility). Trey also won a slow heat of the 100 running an amazing 11.1.

Junior John Hewitt was beaten in the 100 by Curtis Steele of Centennial who supposedly ran a 10.33. John ran 11.2. John ran a great 50.5 4x4 split in the arctic air.

Jeff Sensing was a double winner in the shot and discus (42'7 and 125'11).

Titus Hardemon ran a great anchor leg in the 4x1 before pulling up with a hamsting injury. The extent of the injury is unknown.

Juan Arboleda ran a 1600 and two 800's despite suffering from a sore throat.

NO ONE ASKED TO GET OUT OF THE 4X4, DESPITE THE COLD AND WINDY CONDITIONS. 16 out of 16 runners ran without complaint.

Derrian Waters and Jordan Pritchett are recovering from hamstring injuries. Waters had a setback tonight.

Basketball players Donta Brown, Nick Trauma, Bennie Anderson, and Ryan Pamplin made their high school track debut.

We took 37 boys to the meet.

Next meet is at LaVergne on Friday.
