UPDATED May 30, 2006
PARENTS ... THANK YOU FOR YOUR SUPPORT
AND ENCOURAGEMENT.
IT HAS BEEN A GREAT TWO YEARS.
CONFLICTS & EXPECTATIONS
Football
athletes can choose to attend spring practice
without jeopardizing their status on the track team.
It is my understanding that spring football will begin on March 1
and
will be completed by March 15th.
In
addition, track athletes can choose to attend track workouts
without jeopardizing their status on the football team ... but
see Coach Clayton.
The same flexibilty will be extended to basketball players that
choose to
participate in tryouts and practices in May.
Even
though school programs should always take priority over AAU
programs,
I will do my best to accommodate the athlete and his interests.
This is especially true for freshmen and sophomores.
If
athletes are leaving town with family during Spring Break, they
need to get
their absence excused by me.
The key to all conflict situations ... COMMUNICATION.
All
athletes will be expected to be at each and every practice (unless
excused).
All athletes will be expected to run in meets in which they are
scheduled to run (unless excused).
Athletes
will be dismissed from the team for an unexcused absence.
Track is a wonderful sport with a focus on
the athlete and the improvement
of the athlete.
Improvement is measured and celebrated for all participants.
