Teams competing: Riverdale, Mt. Juliette, Eagleville, Franklin Road Academy, Franklin
No team scores kept.
68 degrees, party sunny.
We got to the meet late because our bus driver took us to Oakland
H.S. instead of Riverdale.
The meet started at 4:00 but, in Tennessee tradition, the running
events did not begin until the field events were completed. The
running events began at 7:00, ended at 9:10 (with a coed 4x4).
Riverdale had most of their State Championship football athletes
out for track.
We set 28 new Personal Records (*PRs).
We were missing several key performers: Trey Hardison (personal
problems), Antonio Murry (AAU basketball problems), Elliot Brown
(injured), and Shannon Derricks limped through the field events (shin
splints).
John Hewitt ran 10.7*, 21.7*, and 48.7*.
John is now the fastest 400 runner I've ever coached. (go to Holler's Hall of Fame)
Titus Hardimon came from behind to smoke Riverdale's anchor-man in the 4x1. We ran 42.8 without perfect handoffs!
Titus Hardimon later ran 10.8 in the 100.
We now have guys at 10.7, 10.8, 11.0, 11.4, and 11.4 in the 100 ... all underclassmen!
Our 4x2 would have run sub-1:30 if not for a stand-still handoff on exchange #3.
We scratched the 4x4 to allow Todd Campbell and
Johnathon Haynes run the 200. They responded by running 22.8*
and 23.2*.
Alec Holler had his first bad meet. He had a sore hamstring and
nothing left in his tank after the 4x2.
Sophomore football standout, Josh Frohock, ran 11.8* and 24.6* ... not bad for a 200-pounder.
Juan Arboleda had another big workout, getting
1st, 3rd, and 3rd in the three distance events.
We travel to Madison, Alabama, Friday, to compete in the Bob
Jones Invitational. Check the 2004 results found in the links
column on the track homepage.
