The FHS Chorus has been asked by special invitation to perform at Carnegie Hall in New York City! Nationally-recognized Brentwood High School director Kimberly Clark will be conducting her Carnegie Hall debut with a performance of Mozart's Coronation Mass. This performance will feature a professional orchestra and soloists and will be an historic event. Mrs. Clark and MidAmerica Productions have asked the Franklin High School Chorus to join with members of the Brentwood High School Grand Chorus to present this concert! The concert will be given on June 1, 2009. The choruses will be traveling on May 29 and will return June 2, 2009. Please click on the following links for more details about this once-in-a-lifetime opportunity for our chorus students! The approximate cost will be $1800-1900 per student. We will be having two fundraising opportunities in the fall for your student to earn money to offset this expense, and at least one fundraiser in the spring. Parents and siblings are encouraged to also come with us, so start saving pennies now! Lots of activities will be planned such as a seeing a Broadway show, going up to the top of the Empire State Building, and a midnight dinner cruise around Manhattan Island after the concert! Cost estimate of trip (without airfare - we won't be able to book that until later in the year) General schedule (we will know more specifics after the rehearsals for the concert are set)
