ABOUT THE PROGRAM
The choral program at FHS features a variety of award-winning choral ensembles. The Concert Choir and Chamber Choir are year-long co-curricular classes that rehearse during every school day. Students receive 1 arts credit for successful completion of the course. The Franklin FORTE Jazz Vocal Ensemble is an extra-curricular activity that meets outside of the school day. Participation in out-of-class performances is required for all chorus students.
All FHS choral students will receive instruction in proper vocal technique, musicianship skills, and the cultural and historical context of a wide variety of vocal music through rehearsal and performance. All chorus ensembles will be featured in at least four concerts per year and will also perform at regional, state, and national level choral events. Choral students also have the opportunity to audition for regional and All-State vocal ensembles.
