Our induction ceremony was held on Monday, October 8, 2007 at 6:00 PM at Cozymel’s in Cool Springs.

 

Officers:

Committees of the Operación Triunfo chapter:

Chapter organization

Plans Chapter meetings, takes care of chapter business, includes all the officers

 

FHS programs

The primary program is tutoring FHS students (in Spanish and English as a second language), but they may also plan other activities for the school.

 

Elementary programs

These committees are each assigned to a different elementary school to provide after-school enrichment activities for the students at that school.  Click on the “committees” link to see a description of each of the programs.

 

Community

Plans activities for the Chapter to reach out to the Hispanic community in the area.  Sociedad members are currently working with the Hispanic Achievers program at the YMCA and English as a Second Language students at Grassland Elementary and Middle School.  Click on the “committees” link for details.

 

Qualifications to be a member of the Sociedad Honoraria Hispánica:

1.   You are currently taking a Spanish class.

2.   You are a sophomore, junior, or senior.

3.   Must have a 3.5 average for each semester in Spanish classes.

4.   You are in the second semester of Spanish II or above.

5.   You are willing to do at least 8 hours of community service per semester (several opportunities will be provided through the chapter).  Community service log
