Project Graduation Update

Senior Letter

Senior Recognition and Response Form

Donation Form

Project Graduation Mission Statement

  • To provide a sense of community for the senior class and their parents in culminating the Franklin High School experience on a healthy, positive note
  • To provide an inclusive, safe, alcohol-free and drug-free event for Franklin High School  seniors on graduation night to celebrate their commencement

By securing financial support and prizes, Project Graduation will not interfere with the FHS Parent Association Funding of other school projects.

 Senior Recognition

Throughout the school year, the Senior Recognition Committee has been highlighting ALL SENIORS at Franklin High School. To date, our seniors have been recognized with various gifts and activities every month, and very soon, will have their name placed on a sign in their front yard to identify their graduating senior status. Then on May 27th following graduation, all Seniors will celebrate their transition from high school at the Project Graduation event where they will enjoy great food, great fun, and great prizes and make great memories.

Obviously the Senior Recognition Committee could not do the wonderful things listed above without the support of the parents of the senior students. The Senior Recognition Committee is completely self-funded abd the budget for this year has determined that a donation of $75.00 for each child would allow us to achieve our goals.

We realize that not everyone is in a position to contribute $75.00 and ask simply that you make some small contribution to recognize your senior. PLEASE NOTE THAT NO SENIOR will be left out of this celebration. We ask those families who are able; consider making a larger contribution to help those who cannot. All of the money contributed will be used for purchasing the recognition items and the prizes for Project Graduation on May 27th.

To ensure your child is properly identified on the yard sign, please click on the link provided here, fill out the form and return it along with your support donation check to the address on the form.

WHAT IS PROJECT GRADUATION?

Franklin High School’s Project Graduation was started two years ago by a group of concerned parents who wanted to offer a safe, alcohol, and drug free way for students to celebrate graduation.

This event is sanctioned by the national organization, MADD (Mothers Against Drunk Driving), that recognizes Prom Night and Graduation Night as two of the most dangerous nights of a teen’s high school career.

Project Graduation is an organized event that is an inclusive way for all students to spend one last, memorable night together. It has been very successful in eliminating smaller, exclusive, private parties that do not include all students.

The most important thing to remember about Project Graduation is that its primary goal is to provide a SAFE night for our children.

This event has been held for the past two years at FHS.  It begins at 10:30 pm on the night of graduation and ends at approximately 5:00 am the next morning. Project Graduation is quickly becoming a FHS tradition and the last couple years have seen almost 100% of the class participating.

Project Graduation activities include fun games, music, prizes, and refreshments. The Project Graduation rules state that no alcohol or drugs will be used that night and should the student decide to leave the party, he will not be readmitted and the parents will be notified.

Funds for Project Graduation are raised in a variety of ways including parental support, donations from local businesses, and some corporate sponsorships. All of these combine to make this event a reality.

The event is coordinated and manned by the Project Graduation Committee and volunteer parents and the success of past events is due to the large percentage of parent participation. The parent volunteers work on securing prizes for the games and favors to help the students remember such a special night. FHS faculty and administration support the event.

WHAT ABOUT THE PRIZES?

The prizes are a large part of the evening and perhaps the students’ favorite part. Every effort is made to make the prizes exciting and fun so that the students feel that they have really won something they will use.

It is our intention to secure as many of the prizes and money from within the FHS family. The Project Graduation committee recognizes the need to not duplicate efforts in solicitation made by the FHS Parent Association. While we are committed to securing prizes that the students will enjoy, we also hope to eliminate excess prize giving and to let the most important gift be the celebration itself and the ability for the students to be together for one final time.

HOW CAN I HELP?

First, ALL FHS parents are encouraged to participate in Project Graduation. Some of you will want to work on committees, some will want to work on shifts that night, and hopefully everyone will support the event financially.

Secondly, we need you to encourage your daughter or son to participate. The high school experience is a wonderful one and many recent FHS graduates have expressed how memorable and how much fun they had together as a class at Project Graduation.

Thirdly, this is an opportunity to have fun with your child and the other senior class parents. It’s a great way to wrap up your son or daughter’s senior year at Franklin

We need and want your participation in Project Graduation! Please feel free to email or call if you have any questions, comments, or would like to volunteer for one of the following committees:
