Professional Development
Session Survey

One of the things that many teachers have mentioned is that they wish that we could have some after school professional development sessions to train individuals to use technology and other things.  We have secured funding for these sessions and will begin having some sessions within the next few weeks.  Each session will last for one hour after school.  You will receive a certificate of completion for each session that you complete - six sessions equals one day of professional development.

Webpage Setup and Design

 

This class will show individuals how to manage files for webpage publishing and review some of the FHS rules and requirements.  There would be several levels of classes for individuals with different skill levels.

This class will focus on using turnitin.com for grading, discussion boards, peer review, and plagarism check.

Online Research Tools

 

This class will focus on utilizing our subscription web-based research tools as well as general Internet tools.

Communicating with Parents

An important tool in education is communication.  This class will help you explore some of the best options for communicating with parents and provide you with some communication tips. 

Writing Across the Curriculum

Writing is not just an activity for English class. Discuss how to incorporate writing in every discipline, how to collaborate with others, and how to grade appropriately.
