            Department Head Job Description:

  • Acts as liaison between teacher and administration as the instructional leader for the department.
  • Along with the administration develops curriculum within the department.
  • Establishes departmental goals and objectives with members of the department.
  • Meets at least 1 time per week with administrators.
  • Assists administrators in teacher assignments.
  • Conducts departmental meetings as needed.
  • Assists in evaluation of faculty members.
  • Coordinates departmental projects.
  • Is a member of the school Budget Committee.
  • Communicates School Board and School Policies, as needed.
  •  Insures that departmental equipment is purchased and accessible.
  • Performs other duties, as deemed necessary by the administration.
