ü  Pencil

ü  Red pen

ü  Notebook paper

ü  Composition book

Weights for Categories 

            20% - Data Analysis

            10% - Numbers and Operations

            20% - Algebra

            20% - Decimals

            20% - Fractions

            10% - Responsibility

 

Rules/Procedures/Expectations

 

Ø  Keep all homework, notes, tests, quizzes, etc. in math folder

Ø  Write assignments in agenda daily

Ø  All Entry Activities should be dated and completed in composition notebook

Ø  1 point will be deducted from Responsibility grade for not bringing materials to class

Ø  2 points will be deducted from Responsibility grade for work turned in late

Ø  Responsibility grade will change on a weekly basis

Ø  Students get one day to turn in missing assignments for every day they are absent before assignment will be marked late and responsibility points deducted

Ø  A student can redo any assignment/test on which he/she receives a low grade

 Students’ first nine week grades will be based on evidence they can do the following:

 

A. Data Analysis

2)     Analyze frequency tables

3)     Analyze stem and leaf plots

4)     Analyze bar graphs and histograms

5)     Analyze circle graphs

6)     Analyze line graphs

7)     Analyze box and whisker plots

8)     Analyze misleading graphs

 

     B. Numbers and Operations

9)     Define, expand, and simplify exponents

10)  Evaluate equations using order of operations

11)  Use commutative, associative, and distributive properties

12)  Analyze and complete patterns

13)  Translate words into math

14)  Solve equations with whole numbers

C. Decimals

15)  Recognize place value with decimals

16)  Compare and order decimals

17)  Read a number line

18)  Estimate with decimals

19)  Add and subtract decimals

20)Multiply decimals

     21)Divide whole numbers

     22)Divide decimals

     23)Solve problems involving all         operations with decimals

 

 

D. Fractions

     24)Use divisibility rules

     25)Break down numbers into prime factors

     26)Find the greatest common factor of 2 numbers
