Realistic Fiction
Plot:
The
book is about a fisherman that
is really poor and he lives in a
hut with his wife and baby. They
make their money by getting fish
from the lake. His brother is
also a fisherman. One day a
scorpion stings his son but the
doctor will not help because
they are too poor. They go out
into the lake and look for clams
to sell. Instead of finding a
lot of clams, they find
something better; a pearl. After
they get the pearl they try to
sell to the buyers but they
offer a little amount. Once the
news spreads about someone
finding a big pearl, soldiers
come to look for them. They end
up running away and getting rid
of the problem: the pearl.
good:
The good thing about the text is
that it has a good climax. The
climax is when the fisherman
finds the pearl. It is always
good to see someone get
something when they deserve it.
It shows that when you have
something like a pearl in a poor
town it is bad for you because
it will cause your life to be
nothing but chaos.
weaknesses:
The only bad thing that I didn't
like was when something good
happened to a person then it
came right back at them in a
really bad way. If the family
kept the pearl and their life
didn't turn out to be a horrible
deal, then it would of been
better.....to me, anyway.
