Plot:

 Nhamo is in big trouble! She has to get married to a Nizimo, an angry spirit, because her father killed him in life. Her ambuya (grandmother) has told her to run away and find her father in Zimbabwe. So Nahamo takes a boat and heads out. She soon finds herself lost in a huge lake. Sheer loneliness forces her to join a baboon troop on one of her many islands she rests on. Will she ever make it to her father's house?   Read A Girl Named Disaster to find out.

good:

I liked how it used ordinary things and turns them into huge deals. Another I enjoyed about this book was how it took an African tribe's own girl and turned into an epic adventure.

weaknesses:

I didn't like how it didn't go on about what happened next after she visits Mother again.
