Fantasy

Plot:

Jenny Avenel is the independent 16-year-old daughter of a nobleman in 1162 Scotland. Her older sister Isabel has been disgraced and it is Jenny's job to uphold the family name by marrying someone of honor. Jenny is an independent spirit, though and often goes off in to the nearby forest where she meets the mysterious Tam Lin, rumored to have lived among faeries. Jenny's father is hopeful, however, William, the king's brother, will choose his daughter as his bride. But, Jenny discovers she is really in love with another. Who will Jenny end up marrying? Read the book to find out.

good:

The book was well written and seemed to be very accurate about the time period. It has lovely descriptions and the characters are wonderful as well.

weaknesses:

Some of the vocabulary is hard to understand, but it is 1162 Scotland after all.
