Fantasy
Plot:
It's about a girl and her
father, who have the magical
ability to read (aloud)
characters and objects out of
books. The girl, Meggie, has the
ambition to enter the Inkworld,
inside the book "Inkheart" (to
understand this book, you need
to read Inkheart, the first book
in this series). She and a boy,
Farid, enter the Inkworld to
find out what it is like, and to
find Dustfinger, the fire eater.
The adventure goes on from
there.
good:
It was an extremely good book,
with great detail and vivid
imaging. Cornelia Funke is a
great writer, because she uses
extravagant language. She writes
an intricate plot, full of
fascinating characters and
cliffhangers at every corner.
weaknesses:
Inkspell is rather, I find, left
open without a closing at the
end of the book, unfinished.
However, I think that she is
planning a third book.
