Plot:
The Divide is about a
thirteen year old boy, named
Felix, who has a severely
dangerous heart disease. On a
trip to the Canadian divide, he
stands across the divide,
somehow being exactly parted by
the divide. He crosses into an
imaginary, magical world. He
meets many different mythical
creatures here, one of his
favorites being Betony, a tangle
child, or elf. Together, they
venture through Betony's world
to find a cure for Felix's
illness and a way for him to get
home.
good:
The author of this book has
perfected it in many ways. She
interprets many of our mythical
creatures, and some real
creatures, but gives them new
names. She also makes it very
clear how, when, and where
events happen.
weaknesses:
The main thing I didn't like
about this book is the fact that
the author switches from
character to character, because
that makes the story a little
bit more confusing.
