The FMS Clinic is run by Nurse Denise Hulan on a full-time bases unless she is out for illness or business. There will always be a staff member that will be available to take care of ill students.
The goal of having a full time nurse is not only to take care of ill or injured students, but to maintain a healthy environment within the school. This includes the students and the staff.

Differences Between a Cold, Seasonal Flu and H1N1 Symptoms

The nurse will send a student home for the following reason:

1. Fever or 100 or above
2. fever of 99 or above if having other symptoms
3. vomiting
4. Red swollen throat with fever or other symptoms such as a headache.
5. Lice
6. Injury that needs medical attention.

Sending a student home is the decision of the nurse. this decision is made based on the individual student.

Make sure your child is fever free for 24 hours before returning to school

Make sure that you do not send a child to school that has been vomiting the morning of school of has a fever.

All medical information in the clinic is confidential.

If your child must have a prescription medication, there must be a form signed and can be faxed the their physician. ALL MEDICATION MUST BE BROUGHT IN BY A PARENT OR GUARDIAN. NO STUDENT CNA CARRY MEDICATION.

Vision and Hearing is done on all 7th graders on a yearly basis at the beginning of the school year.

Height and Weights with Body Mass Index will be done on all students. Information will go home for this to be done.

Immunizations must be kept up to date. If your child is missing any shots you will be notified by the nurse.  All seventh graders entering school must have all 3 hepatitis b shots.
