This was a
transition year for the Girl’s Soccer team. We opted
out of the Williamson County Middle School Athletic
Association and played as an independent. This allowed
us to play a more competitive schedule with schools more
our own size. As a result we had fewer games than the
girls would have liked. When the season was over they
were still wanting to play more. We ended the season
with winning records for both the Varsity (4 – 3) and JV
(2-1) teams. The team was the recipient of some good
talent that moved in over the summer and contributed
greatly to the team. Since most of them were 8th
graders this year, I will miss them next year but the
High School should receive some players that should
contribute to their team. The 6th graders
showed great promise for the future and along with the
current 7th graders, the team next year
should be just as good. Next year I hope to schedule
more games with the Maury county schools in Columbia and
also join the local association so they can participate
in a end of season tournament. Gail Weber,
FMS Girls Soccer Coach
