1st Trimester Essential Outcomes

1.Write the equation of a line
2. Analyze graphs (with and without technology) to observe and predict behavior
3. Apply trigonometric properties, including unit circle
4. Describe and estimate limits of functions (including one-sided limits)
5. Develop geometric understanding of graphs of continuous functions
6. Interpret derivative (graphically, numerically, analytically)
7. Identify relationships between f, f
, and f’’
8. Compute derivatives of all functions
9. Understand meaning of slope/rate of change
10. Analyze features of given curve (concavity, increasing/decreasing, extrema, etc.)
11. Interpret derivative as rate of change in variety of contexts (speed, vel., accel.)

2nd Trimester Essential Outcomes

12. Translate verbal descriptions into equations involving derivatives and vice versa
13. Interpret the Mean Value Theorem
14. Model rates of change, including related rates problems
15. Compute Riemann sums (left, right, midpoint, etc.)
16. Define definite integral as limit of Riemann sums, as change of quantity over interval
17. Calculate antiderivative and definite integral of basic functions
18. Calculate antiderivatives by substitution of variables
19. Use Fundamental Theorem of Calculus to evaluate definite integrals
