1st Trimester Essential Outcomes

1.
Know and apply basic geometric vocabulary, theorems, and symbols.
2. Know and apply the distance and midpoint formula.
3. Use inductive and deductive reasoning to form conclusions.
4. Know and apply the different angle relationships.
5.
Use theorems involving properties of perpendicular lines and parallel lines cut by a transversal.
6.
Use properties of segment and angle addition and bisectors to solve problems.
7. Perform constructions and describe how to.
8. Write equations of parallel and perpendicular lines.
9. Classify triangles.
10. Use properties of equilateral and isosceles triangles to solve problems
11. Apply Angle Sum Theorem for triangles.
12. Prove triangles are congruent and use congruent triangles to solve problems.
13. Know and apply the Pythagorean Theorem and its converse.
14. Be able to use bisectors, medians, and altitudes of a triangle to solve
problems.

29. Use properties of 3 dimensional figures to solve problems.
30. Figure the surface area and volume of prisms, cylinders and pyramids.
