Dear Grassland Families,

 

On behalf of the entire GES staff, thank you so very much for your continued support and involvement in your child’s

education. The formula for success lies within the unique partnership between family and school. As our mission states, we truly strive to “Cultivate the Ability, Intellect and Character of Each Student”. Our children have demonstrated positive growth gains throughout the year. Active participation creates the difference from “good “ to “great”!

 

Congratulations to fifth graders as they enter middle school! We’re looking forward to another great school year beginning Monday, August 11 (first half-day). Class lists will be posted on Friday, August 1 at 3:00p.m. Remember to keep reading and have a healthy and fun filled summer!

 

SPRING ARTS NIGHT AND FIRST GRADE PROGRAM is Thursday, May 8.  Enjoy the art showcase from kindergarten through second grade, first grade program “How Does Your Garden Grow?”,  GES choir and fifth grade recorder presentation.

 

NASHVILLE BALLET performs “Carnival of the Animals” on Monday, May12 at 8:50 (K-2) and 10:10 (3-5). Thanks to Tina Cartwright for coordinating this wonderful opportunity for our students.

 

PARENT COMMUNITY APPRECIATION RECEPTION takes place on Tuesday, May 13 at 9:00a.m. ALL parents, grandparents and community members are cordially invited to honor your support and celebrate our successful year at GES! Thanks to Marianne Meriwether for coordinating this special  event.

 

ANNUAL GES TALENT SHOW is scheduled on Thursday, May 15.  You are invited to enjoy our talent showcase of third through fifth graders. Thanks to Martha Moss for coordinating our annual event.

 

FIELD DAY festivities take place on Friday, May 16.  Grades K-2 will be outside from 8:45-10:45, and grades 3-5 from 12:45-2:45. Also, inflatables and much more! Thanks to Coach Connor, Coach Guiffre and all our fabulous parent volunteers.

 

FIFTH GRADE RECOGNITION DAY is Wednesday, May 21. We are proud to honor their accomplishments and wish continued success as they  prepare for  middle school!

 

LAST HALF DAY of school is Thursday, May 22. Dismissal occurs at 12:05 p.m.  THE FIRST DAY (half day) for 2008-09 is Monday, August 11.
