Parental Involvement at the Middle School

While it is true that your  sixth graders may not want you to be as "visible" at school as you may have been at the elementary level, nonetheless opportunities to help abound. Parental involvement opportunities include:

  • Parents' Club Board
  • Parent Advisory Council (PAC) (discussion group and committees)
  • Parents' Network and S.T.A.R.S.
  • Parent-to-Parent Classes
  • Open Houses
  • Office Help
  • Conferences
  • Teachers' assistants
  • Effective Schools Correlate and Project teams
  • and many other volunteer activities.

If you wish to be involved in your child's experience at GMS, you simply need to pick an area in which to participate. PARENTS ARE WELCOME - AND NEEDED - AT GMS - no matter what your child may say!
