Volunteer Opportunities

During the Invest Fest and  Open House in the fall, the GMS Parents' Club sends home Volunteer sheets listing many ways in which you may help at GMS, behind the scenes in the office or classroom or in some cases, more active roles.  In most cases this is volunteering on one of our many PTO Board Committees.  The following is a sample:

Committees with year round volunteering activities include:

Campus Support: general office help, including covering phones, copying/collating/mailing, etc

GMS Café: 2-5 forums during the year

Building & Grounds: helping with outdoor lawn & garden needs

General Store:  overseeing & assisting students during open selling times and special events

Hospitality: Hospitality Functions are a HUGE part of parental involvement. They include:  
Open Houses for new school year (Sept)
Teacher meetings on a monthly basis
Holiday luncheon                                                                                5th Grade Open House (March)
Teacher Appreciation Week (May)
End of Year Teacher Luncheon (May)
 

Other activities are limited one-time commitments, such as:

Copying and Collating Info Fair Packets (August)

Info Fair (August)

Copying and Collating Open house Packets (Sept)

Book Fair (Feb)

Individual teachers ask for help with Odd jobs, field trips, Field Day, and projects during the year

General office help, including covering phones during assemblies, copying/collating/mailing newsletters, etc.

Resource speaker (could involve professional or educational interests, hobbies, etc. )
