Art

 
    In art, I strive to cover the National Standards and our new Elementary Williamson County Art Curriculum.  Artists create their work using the "Elements of Art" which are: line, shape, color, form, texture, space and value. To plan their work, based on these elements, they use the "Principles of Design" which are: pattern, movement, balance, rhythm, emphasis, unity and contrast. The younger students concentrate more on the "Elements of Art" and the older students expand on those and begin using the "Principles of Design" in their art work. The lessons build on each other. I also have the students study art from different cultures, time periods and famous artists. The Williamson County elementary art team strives to concentrate more on the hands on experience of different art mediums than the product produced.
