Student Council Book Drive
Student Council is excited to be coordinating a Used Book Drive to collect gently used children’s books for schools in lower income areas where students may not have as many books. Student Council will take the books that HBES students donate and deliver them to a nonprofit called Ride for Reading. Ride for Reading delivers books to Title 1 schools in the Middle Tennessee area to help promote literacy. The HBES Student Council set a goal of 500 books to donate so let’s clean out those gently used books and send them to students eager for more books to enjoy! Bring them to Mrs. Boone’s room anytime between February 24th to March 7th . Start cleaning out those books, and let’s see if we can meet or exceed our goal! Go Hound Dogs!
Fourth and Fifth Grade Science Fair Interest Meeting
We will be holding a parent meeting on Thursday, March 2 at 6:00 in the library to review information about the science fair. Parent participation is required for your child to participate. If you are not able to attend the meeting, please contact one of us. We are really excited to provide this opportunity for our students and looking forward to seeing their scientific minds at work.
Thursday, March 16th we will host an International Fair during students’ Specials time. We want all Hunters Bend students to value the differences that enhance our school family and to respect the customs, viewpoints, and heritage that we bring to one another.
When we broaden our understanding of one another, we can deepen our connections and friendships between each other. Let’s celebrate the many cultures here at the Bend! All students and families who would like to share about their heritage are encouraged to do so! If interested, please contact Mrs. Boone at Lee.Boone@wcs.edu
