My role: I am a Student Assistance Specialist who provides prevention education and intervention services (individual, group, and crisis counseling) for students. Some of the areas I address are bullying, substance abuse, violence, and social and emotional issues.
Referrals: Students can be referred to STARS by teachers, principals, school counselors, school nurse, parents, friends, and self-referral. Referral forms are available through email and in my office. Referrals can be delivered to my office or my box. All referrals will be kept confidential unless you would like for the student to know that you referred him or her.
I will be available at Brentwood Middle School on Monday, Wednesday, and Friday. I will be at Hillsboro on Tuesday and Thursday. My passion is working with children and teens to challenge, inspire, and teach them to love themselves and those around them. I am dedicated to academic excellence and committed to the mission and goals of the STARS program. I have a Master’s Degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Argosy University, and received my undergraduate degree in Psychology from Western Illinois University. I have heard great things about your school and look forward to working with the faculty, staff, students, and parents. Please feel free to ask me any questions or come by my office and introduce yourself. Thank you for all your support.
