Hello, my name is Caren Buckles and I am looking forward to another fun and exciting year in Kindergarten here at HES!

I was born and raised in Nashville, TN and absolutely love music of most any kind.  I attended Goodpasture Christian High School from 1^st to 12^th grade and was a part of the marching band all through my high school years.  I then graduated from Tennessee Technological University with my  Bachelor’s and Master’s degree, both in the field of Early Childhood Education.  I knew even then that all I wanted to do was teach kindergarten! 

This will be my 19^th year of teaching with the majority of that experience being in kindergarten, a few years have been in 1^st grade.  I taught in the Maury County public school system for 13 years before moving to Heritage.  This will make my 6^th year at Heritage and it truly is a wonderful place to be!

I live in the northernmost part of Columbia with my husband of 19 years, Bill.  We have not been blessed with children but we do have two “babies”, our two black cats, Rascal and Bandit.  My students (and parents) always get to hear stories about them!  I enjoy singing in the adult choir and working with our children’s choirs at my church.  In what little spare time I have, I like to shop, read, watch movies or nap!
