My name is Sara Gildemeister and it is a pleasure to be a part of the first grade team at Heritage Elementary!
 

     I was born and raised on a farm in eastern Iowa.  I earned my Bachelor’s Degree in Elementary and Early Childhood Education from the University of Northern Iowa.  Before moving to the Nashville area, I taught Title I at a charter school in Arizona for grades 3-5.  After joining WCS, I went on to complete my Master’s Degree in Curriculum and Instruction from Middle Tennessee State University.  The 2009-2010 school year will mark my sixth year of teaching.     

     My hobbies include reading, traveling, spending time with friends, and everything related to country music.  I also try to make it back to Iowa as much as I can to visit my family.   

     I look forward to the excitement and the opportunities that this year will bring in first grade!
