Welcome to
Heritage Elementary!!! I feel so blessed to have
the opportunity to begin my 4th year for WCS. It is
hard to believe that 13 years ago I stepped in my
first classroom as a young college graduate. Each
school year since then has brought about a new
excitement for me. This year is no different. I am
so excited to be the newest member of the second
grade team at HES. I am looking forward to the new
challenges that this move will bring, and I know
that this will be a great year.
Teaching
has always had a special place in my heart. At
an early age, I "taught" my dolls and stuffed
animals mimicing my teachers. Therefore, I know the
HUGE role that a teacher can have in touching young
lives. My desire to teach continued to grow as
I got older. Many teachers throughout the
years have played a BIG role in helping mold me into
the person (and teacher) I am today. My desire
is that I can touch the lives of those children that
I have been entrusted with in a positive way.
I also hope to instill in my students a love for
learning and a desire to always do their best.
I am a
native of Middle Tennessee. I was born in
Northern Maury County and attended school in Spring
Hill and Columbia. After graduating from High
School, I began teaching in a Preschool in Columbia.
I taught there for 4 years while receiving my
teaching degree from Columbia State and
Freed-Hardeman University. I also hold a
Master's degree from MTSU in Early Childhood
Education. I will begin working on my Ed.S.
with an additional endorsement in August. I am
currently working on my National Board
Certification; I will complete this process this
school year.
I have
been very busy this summer moving to a new house,
classroom, and grade level. I live
in Thompson's Station with my "little princess", Zoe
(my dog). When I'm not in the classroom, I
enjoy traveling, shopping, reading, and just
spending time with my family and friends.
