Mrs. Martin in Third Grade!!

Welcome
to Third Grade! My name is Lisa Martin, and I am
thrilled to be a part of the Heritage family! This
will be my second year at Heritage, after teaching three
years
at Scales Elementary in Brentwood. Before that, I was
a teacher for fifteen years in the
Scottsbluff Public School system in Scottsbluff, Nebraska.
Being a native Nebraskan, you
will find Mrs. Martin decked out in red and cheering on her
Huskers during the college
football season. With a native Kentuckian as her
husband, the color changes to blue
during basketball season!
Our family moved to Tennessee four years ago. My
husband works in IT for the Metro-Nashville government, and
is a musician on the side. My oldest son Matt will be a
sophomore at Independence High School this year and is
active in JROTC. My middle son, Reid, is entering 8th grade
at Heritage Middle and is an avid skate boarder! I
have a two year old daughter, Olivia Grace, who keeps us all
hopping! During our family time together, we love to
explore new places in and around Nashville. We are
always up for trying a new restaurant, taking in music and
sports, and just enjoying the beauty of the land. We
love the historical things to do in this area!
I knew I wanted to be a teacher when I was ten years old.
Every school year, I find myself feeling extremely humbled
that I have the privilege and honor of supporting your
children along this part of their journey in life. To
see those shining faces as they come through the door each
morning is inspiring. I wouldn't want to do anything
else as a career---this is the most amazing and rewarding
opportunity---and I still feel as excited as I did my first
year of teaching. Welcome, and I look forward to meeting
each of you, and seeing you throughout the year! |
