Our Mission:
The
mission of Heritage Middle School is to develop the personal and
academic potential of every student while fostering the beginnings of
personal responsibility and self-discipline. At the same time we will
provide a transition for all students from elementary school to high
school leading to increased proficiency in all areas of state
academic standards.
|
|
Our Vision:
Heritage
Middle School will provide a safe, nurturing, and challenging academic
environment where the student comes first. The entire school community
will take an active role in furthering the education of our students by
promoting excellence, personal responsibility, and self-discipline.
|
|
Our Beliefs:
- We believe
that all students have the right to achieve
their highest potential in a learning environment that values effort
and strives for excellence.
We believe in creating a safe environment that promotes mutual
respect, responsibility, and citizenship in every member of our
learning community.
We believe that all HMS
staff members are leaders of future leaders; our actions and
interactions with both students and peers should model
self-discipline, responsibility, integrity and the pursuit of
excellence.
We believe that a variety of
assessments are essential to informing instruction and acquiring an
accurate measurement of student achievement and growth.
We believe that a successful
school involves all members of the school community (parents,
students, teachers,
and staff) in the decision-making process.
We believe that all
professional educators should continually investigate and implement
current research-based instructional methods to achieve a higher
level
of student engagement.
We believe that the primary
focus of Heritage Middle School is student learning.
