Indy Handles Hillwood

Independence needed a win to get things back on track for their season in the most desperate way. Monday night they faced a team that could give them the medicine they needed to accomplish that goal, a victory. The Eagles squared off against a struggling Hillwood Hilltoppers team Monday. For the Eagles Chad Roberts did not struggle at all in this match up. Roberts blasted two goals past the Topper's goalie. Also, Shane Powell and Matt King added to the scoring frenzy for the Eagles with each tapping in a goal. The Eagles get their first official win of the regular season after going undefeated in the pre season. The 4-1 victory for the Eagles brings their overall record to 1-1-1 on the young season.

Wednesday the Independence squad will travel to Overton (Nashville) for another key district matchup. Game time is for 7:00 pm. This weekend, starting Friday night, the Eagles will host the IHS invitational. Friday the Eagles battle Dobyns Bennett at 5:00 pm. Then Saturday play two games at 10:00 am and 4:00 pm.
