Coach Henrie is pleased to announce that
Shanna David will become the Eagles new head coach for the lady
Eagles softball team. Coach David will take the place of
Coach Justice who step down after last season to spend more
time with her family. Coach David becomes the second head
coach in the Lady Eagle softball history. This will be her
first stint as a head coach in softball. Coach David
graduated and played for Cumberland University. Coach David
pitched three years for Cumberland and recently has been
giving private lessons at Showtime Sports in Franklin,
Tennessee. Coach David is married to Paul David for the past
seven years and they have three children; 6 year old boy
Ryan and twin 5 month old girls Catherine and Alexandra.
Coach David's husband is a Blackhawk helicopter pilot for
the National Guard. When asked about her hiring as
Independence's second head softball coach, "I'm so excited
to be given the opportunity to coach softball at
Independence. I can't wait til February when we can get on
the field and start having some fun!" Coach David's goals
for the upcoming season include be above a 500 record and
help the players accomplish their individual goals. "We are
going to have a great year."
