District 1st Round: Indy's Girls Advances, Boys Doubles Advances

Day one of district tennis action saw a first for any Independence Tennis team, advancement into second round of district tournament. For the first time in Independence school history all of the girls moved onto the second round. As for the boys, all did not go as planned. The boys fought hard and faced some top level opponents in the opening round. The only boys' team to advance onto the second round was the doubles team of Brennan Foti and Jake Turner. The duo defeated Hillwood's #1 double team by a score of 6-3, 6-3.

Michael Dunn & Jay Perry lost to Cheben & Young (Overton’s #1) 4-6, 4-6

Brendan Foti & Jake Turner def. Sissleman & Sissleman (Hillwood’s #1) 6-3, 6-3
