2009 All Mid-State Honorees The Tennessean has released the names for those wrestlers that will received the honor of being a member to the 2009 All Mid-state wrestling team. Independence placed a few of its grapplers on both the first and second teams this year. Independence Sophomore Brennen Cox was the lone Eagle named to the first team. Cox wrestled in the 145 lbs category and being the D1 runner up and the first of two Independence wrestlers to ever make it to the finals was the reasoning behind the Tennessean's choice to honor Brennen with the first team All Mid-state. Cox's overall record on the season of 43-8 and finished second in the state. Three other Eagles were named to the second team category for their performances this season on the mat. All three are seniors who ended their careers at Independence by being state qualifiers in wrestling. 125 lbs. Senior Chase Beazley, 140 lbs. Seth Seneca, and 152 lbs. Chris Sinsheimer were all granted honors to the second team.
