Lindsey Wilson named its
first ever head wrestling
coach in Corey Ruff. One of
Coach Ruff's goals is to
recruit high quality
student-athletes and to use
wrestling to continue to
instill values such as trust
and faith. "I am looking for
high-character student
athletes," Ruff said. "I
understand the importance of
mission at Lindsey Wilson
College and my goal is to
meet those standards while
producing on the mat." For
Chris Sinsheimer he has
achieved such success here
at Independence and will
continue the same success in
college.
Coach Ruff's thoughts about
Chris:
“Chris will be an
intricate
part of the foundation of
the wrestling program at
Lindsey Wilson. He is a very
good athlete, and he is
eager to learn. The first
time I watched him wrestle
at the state duals, I was
very impressed with his
instincts. I was amazed to
learn that he has only been
wrestling for a few years,
so I think Coach Grindstaff
deserves some praise for his
ability to develop Chris
into one of the Tennessee’s
best wrestlers. He doesn’t
have any bad habits from
what I have seen, and I
really think he has the
potential to do something
special on the college
wrestling scene.” – Corey
Ruff
Coach Grindstaff's praises
of Chris:
“Chris has done a remarkable
job over the past two season
to make himself an elite
wrestler in Tennessee.
Picking up a sport in such a
short period of time and
becoming so competitive is
amazing to me. Chris is a
very talented student
athlete and I am confident
he will enjoy great success
at the next level if he
keeps the same work ethic he
has shown me here at
Independence.” Coach
