University of Alabama: Capstone Business Leadership Academy

Current 11th grade students

Deadline: March 15, 2008 (applications will be accepted through April 15)

Intended for:  Rising seniors with an interest
in Business.  Two 10 day residential summer programs.  Requirements: 3.4 GPA; 27 ACT, 1210 SAT or 140 PSAT; $350.

Duke TIP Summer Programs

International and Domestic field studies available to motivated students.

Furman Summer Scholars

Current 10-11 grade students

One or two week engaged learning adventure where students participate in classes and experience college life.

University of Tennessee Knoxville: Summer Design Camp

Current 9-11 grade students

Deadline: May 1, 2008 (Scholarships April 1, 2008)

Design Matters summer camp runs July 13-19 and offers an introduction to the design of the built environment.  Cost is $850 and is limited to 45 students.

Tennessee Honors Program

For current 11th grade students.

The Tennessee Honors Program is a unique opportunity for outstanding Juniors not only to receive recognition for their academic and extracurricular achievements, but, to demonstrate through independent research their ability to synthesize their knowledge of the various disciplines by applying  it to the resolution of a specific problem.  The student is challenged to research a given issue, develop a hypothesis supported by evidence and draw a conclusion.  Thirty winners will be chosen and invited to a reception hosted by the Commissioner of Education.  Please see your counselor for details.

Deadline: Completed Applications including written response due to counselor by April 4, 2008.
