Finding Information

Decide which resources are best suited to your topic . . . If you are researching a current topic or issue, use periodical databases such as BigChalk or Tennessee Electronic Library, current newspapers and magazines, and selected Internet sources.

CARD CATALOG

The automated card catalog is located on all search stations in the building, and is currently accessible on 40  search stations in the media center. The card catalog is available through the LIBRARY PROGRAMS selection from the Williamson County Schools Main Menu. Follett circulation/cataloging system, which is the circulation system used by all of the elementary and middle schools in the county, is the automated system used in the Independence  High Media Center.

REFERENCE

DON'T OVERLOOK THE ENCYCLOPEDIA AS A PLACE FOR BEGINNING YOUR RESEARCH.  If your teacher does not permit you to use an encyclopedia as a documented source, you may still use an encyclopedia for background info and for keywords and subjects to pursue in other sources.
