Attendance Policy

Educational research documents that attendance at school is necessary for adequate academic progress. Our state considers attendance such an important issue that attendance in school is compulsory. We will use these guidelines set by the state for attendance.

Upon returning from an illness, students should bring a written excuse. A printed email from the parent is also accepted.

  1. Parents wanting to take a family trip should have this approved by Dr. Webb in advance of the trip. She may approve a limited number of days per year so parents should choose days carefully. A written excuse is still necessary. Work will not be given in advance of the trip but may be secured from the teacher upon the student’s return.
  2. Students MUST check in at the office with a parent when they arrive later than 8:30. Teachers will not admit a student into the classroom after 8:30 without a tardy slip from the office.
  3. Parents will receive a letter from the Assistant Principal after 5 tardies.
  4. Parents will receive a letter from the Assistant Principal after 5 absences.
  5. After 10 absences, a doctor excuse will be required to return to school.
  6. Out of zone students are allowed to attend Kenrose subject to no attendance issues (includes absences and tardies). These students will return to their home school if attendance issues arise.
