Dr. Marilyn Webb
Principal Notes… Thank you to the Kenrose PTO and parents who made last week’s Teacher Appreciation Week so special! Parent support of teachers and the school is a key component of an effective school, and we appreciate the involvement of Kenrose parents very much. We plan to show our appreciation at the Kenrose Volunteer Breakfast this Thursday, May 14, at 8:30 a.m. In order to help us in ordering the right amount of food, please RSVP to Lyndsay Younkin, lyndsayy@wcs.edu, today (Tuesday). We have so many wonderful parent volunteers at Kenrose, and we hope to see everyone there! We are excited about a summer review opportunity for our students. Lindsay Wentworth, a teacher at Ravenwood High School, created a summer review program for students currently in grades 1-4 as one of the requirements for her master’s degree. The program will be accessible on the Kenrose website, and we hope that it will be helpful to you and your children. Following is a description of the program from Ms. Wentworth. Attention Parents! This summer you have a new opportunity for helping your students take their math skills to the next level. Available on the Kenrose website is a link to “Summer Refresh” material designed to review all math skills taught in your student’s previous grade level. The material contains games, web links, practice problems, and activities for students to complete throughout the summer months. Also available is an answer key for students to go back and check their work as they progress through the material. Please take advantage of this opportunity to help your students stay strong in math and be prepared for a new school year! Thank you for all you do to support teaching and learning at Kenrose!
