Hello, my name is Lisa Hughes and I’m
thrilled to be a part of the Longview Family.
Come along with me and I will show you why Longview
Elementary is my “home away from home”.
Teaching is a second career for me.
My life is truly an example of patients and following
your heart. I
have taken my life experiences, along with my business and
professional training, and turned them into my greatest
accomplishment; being a teacher, an educator, and yes, a
student of learning.
My greatest joy is teaching young students why we
continue learning, thinking, and dreaming big dreams.
I was raised in
Franklin,
TN.
I know it’s hard to believe, but it’s true.
Yes, I remember when Spring Hill was a LONG way from
Franklin
and a place that we went motorcycling.
I have seen a lot of changes, but one thing that
hasn’t changed is our commitment to education and to the
communities we serve.
I completed my
undergraduate work at the University of Tennessee
in Knoxville- Go Vols!
While at U.T., I earned a Bachelor of Science degree
in Marketing.
After many years in the corporate world and raising my
family, I decided to embark on a dream I had as a child
playing school with my best friend as well as teaching dance
to young children at Ann Carroll’s
School
of Dance.
I followed that dream to Trevecca University
in Nashville, TN where I graduated with a Master of Arts
degree in Elementary Education.
I’ve been married for
nineteen years to my husband, Randy.
We have two children who attend Williamson County
Public Schools; Kristy, age 16 and Steven, age 14.
Things in my life seem to come in two’s.
I have two horses, two dogs, and two turtles as pets.
I’m one of those who can’t turn down a pet.
Then I have to get another one so the first one will
have a friend.
While I am not teaching, or
thinking about teaching, I enjoy watching Kristy play
volleyball, driving the golf cart for Steven and hanging out
at Center Hill Lake.
I enjoy reading, movies, antiques, and
shopping…shopping….shopping; did I mention shopping?
Call it weird, but I love to mow the grass; I believe
its part of my quiet time.
Everyone in my household knows the lawnmower belongs
to mom.
Throughout my life and my
experiences, I have defined “success” for myself.
I believe success can not be measured in dollars and
cents, but by making a positive difference in someone’s
life. For me, I
achieved by best success the day I began teaching.
It’s truly a miracle to watch your children grow.
I appreciate the opportunity you have given me to
help educate, inspire, and share with your children.
Together, we are a team and together we will achieve
success!
