New Policy for Transportation Changes

As of July 1, 2007 a new Tennessee law went into effect for the protection of your child with regard to school bus transportation. Students must have a signed note by their parent or guardian giving permission for the child to get off the bus in a location other than their designated bus stop. There can be no exceptions made to this policy.

What this means for you and your family is that you must decide before your child comes to school in the morning where your child will exit the bus in the afternoon. You must send a note to school with your child stating exactly where your child will get off the bus, the date, and your signature and daytime phone number on the note so that we can issue a bus pass to your child. During the day we will verify by phone that you sent the change of transportation note. Please do not fax a note as we will be unable to accept it. Because of the required signature, students will no longer be able to change afternoon transportation plans at the end of the day.

Thank you for your cooperation and understanding as we continue to work to make your child’s school day safer.

Thank you, Dr. Jonathan Ullrich, Principal

Dismissal Updates

·        Early dismissals will be allowed until 3:10PM. Otherwise, dismissal time is at 3:35PM.

·        Second Grade car-riders (without younger siblings) will now be in the front of the building to more evenly disperse students between the front and back lines beginning Tuesday, September 4th.

·        If a transportation change is necessary, please send a note with your child that morning. We cannot accept changes by phone.

·        Those meeting walkers please stay outside in the designated waiting area to minimize distractions to the students during dismissal.
