GENERAL GUIDELINES

  1. Attendance is a critical factor in success.
  2. Focus group attendance is mandatory for all Middle College students.
  3. Because Middle College is a high school in the Williamson County School System, student   have all rights specified in the Williamson County Schools Student Handbook, except in offenses for which our location in Davidson County places us in the jurisdiction of local government.
  4. In general, Middle College students are expected to fulfill the following responsibilities.

    a.  Behave in a manner that supports educational pursuits and personal growth.   This includes treating faculty, staff, and fellow students with respect.

    b.  Dress tastefully, in a manner appropriate for students on a college campus preparing for further education and career opportunities.

    c.  Refrain from profane, obscene, or otherwise offensive language.

    d.  Treat facilities and materials belonging to Nashville State Tech and Middle College High School with respect. Students who deface or purposely damage any school property, including school buses, shall pay in full for all damages.

    e.  Approach academic goals honestly, understanding that plagiarism is strictly prohibited.

    f.  Submit to such searches of property and/or person as deemed necessary by principal following the criteria set by the Williamson County School Board.

  5. A student possessing, handling, using, selling, or being under the influence of alcohol, other drugs, or any controlled substances in any way on Nashville State Tech property, any other grounds used for school purposes, school buses, or at a school sponsored activity shall be suspended for one calendar year.
  6. A student possessing any weapon at a school activity or on a school bus shall be suspended for one calendar year.
