Reading and Writing - Study topics will include:

· Realism and Fantasy

· Sequence / Summarize

· Story Structure (Character and Setting)

· Mini unit on Folktales

· Finding our focus as writers

Mathematics - Lesson topics will include:

· Numeration (place value, money, number comparisons)

· Number sense (addition, subtraction)

Science – During the 9 week period, we will be studying Plants and animals, ecosystems, food chains, animal adaptations, and the roles plants and animals play in our fascinating world.

Social Studies – We will continue to “find our way” from Nolensville to various parts of our world. Map Skills will be revisited and fine-tuned. Community attributes will continue to be a focus of study. During the week of September 17 – 23, emphasis will be given to our nation’s Constitution.
