GENERAL INFORMATION

The library is open Monday through Friday from 8:00 am to 4:00 pm.  We have a fixed/flexible schedule with open checkout throughout the day (with teacher permission).  As part of the fixed schedule, 3^rd - 5^th grade students attend library skills classes in the mornings and K – 2^nd grade students in the afternoons, alternating week to week.  As part of the flexible schedule, teachers are encouraged to coordinate with the librarian in setting up times for collaborative lesson planning and to make use of the library and its resources for teachable moments and/or special projects with an individual, group, or class.

CHECKOUT

Checkout limits for students are as follows:  K = 1 book, 1^st = 2 books, 2^nd = 3 books, 3^rd – 5^th = 4 books.  Books are checked out for two weeks and may be renewed once for an additional two weeks (after which time, they must be returned for others to enjoy).

 LOST & DAMAGED BOOKS

Letters will be sent home with the replacement cost for lost books and for books damaged beyond repair.
