Text Box: We all know that students don’t always share what they did in school.  As parents you may feel disconnected from the daily life of your child.  Below we have given several questions or activities that you can do with your child at home to learn what they are studying throughout their school day.
1. Can you identify some of the states located in theMiddle Atlantic region?
2. What tense is the verb “said”?
3. What is the past tense of the word “find”?
4. Who is the main character in your AR book and what are character traits they have?
5. Can you put these fractions in simplest form?   9/12, 6/9, 15/20, and 24/32
6. What is the fraction you create when you add 1/4 and 2/4?

We are all very excited about this grand Oak View tradition!  The reports are underway.  Parents should have signed the Presidential report packet.  That will be our guide throughout the entire program and reception.  If you have not seen this packet, please ask your child to bring it home.  It is very important that you are up to date and checking on the status of your child’s work.  We are doing the majority of the work here; however, some items will need your assistance such as securing a costume, collecting appropriate memorabilia, bringing in a favorite food of your president or first lady, etc.  After reading this packet, if you still are uncertain about any required work for the Presidential please contact your child’s homeroom teacher.

Spring Break

In fourth grade all your child’s graded papers came home on Tuesday in one folder for you to review and keep.  As you know, this year is different in order to get your child prepared for middle school procedures.  They are to keep all graded papers in the folder that represents that subject.  *  At the end of each unit their papers will be gathered and sent home in one packet. Math tests and quizzes will come home to be signed and then are to be returned to the math teacher. We welcome you to ask for their folders and review your child’s work, but please be sure to place any papers back into the folders.  This will help lessen the stress on your child when it comes time for finding papers and organizing our folders.

We have been going out on the playground many days when it is chilly. Some students are not wearing any coats to school. With all the illnesses going around, please make sure your child will be warm enough outside for about 20 minutes of recess time. Also, the P.E. Dept. has been taking the classes out for 50 minutes on P.E. days. Thank you.
