Mission Of the Williamson County Adult Education Program

Our mission is to provide educational opportunities to adult learners, ages 18 and older that are not enrolled in school.  Williamson County Adult Education provides a diverse educational program which assists adult learners who choose to improve basic literacy skills (learn to read and write), to obtain their GED, enter post-secondary education, learn basic computer skills, learn to speak English as a second language, or to become better equipped to enter the workforce by improving job skills.

Our vision is to provide educational services to meet the needs of the adult learner/employer in our community.

Services Provided
We offer free GED, English as a Second Language (ESL), and basic computer skills classes.  All classes are taught by certified teachers and are open to persons 18 years or older who are not currently enrolled in high school. The classes are designed to meet the needs of a wide range of student levels and abilities.

Volunteer Opportunities

Williamson County Literacy Council
Williamson County Adult Education also works in conjunction with the Williamson County Literacy Council to provide tutors for GED or for those wanting to learn to read. For more information about tutors or to be a literacy volunteer call Rita Dozier at (615)-472-5010 or visit their website.

Williamson County's Annual GED Graduation 
Each May Williamson County Adult Education celebrates our GED graduates with a full cap and gown graduation ceremony. All persons who have received GED diplomas and who have not already participated in a graduation ceremony are welcome to take part. Please contact Williamson County Adult Education if you are interested in participating in the next graduation ceremony. Share your accomplishment and pride with your family and friends!
