Healthy Highlights at Williamson County Schools

Longview Elementary  

Germ Education – Each class will receive a visit by the school nurse on the importance of not passing germs around and how easy it can happen.   Classes are designed to be age appropriate ranging from fun books, hand-outs, glogerm powder, swabbing different items and growing bacteria in an incubator.   

Health Education – School nurse will conduct various classes for the following grades:

  • 1st graders – Dental Care class using the Crest program which includes a video, discussion of healthy choices, length of brushing time (the ABC song) and other object lessons.
  • 4th graders – Good Hygiene class which includes a video and discussion.
  • 5th graders – Health project on the different body systems and First Aid.  Class time will also be devoted to puberty education.
